Major Expansion Plans Announced for Leading Auto-ID and Labelling Company

The Label Store increases capacity and employee numbers to meet unprecedented demand.

Beverley, East Yorkshire, 7th August 2008 – The Label Store UK today announced major growth plans including a new manufacturing unit, extra capacity, and the appointment of another two key staff members, furthering the company’s expansion within the label manufacturing, barcode printing, and auto-id equipment market.

The move is a result of increased demand for the label stores manufactured printed and blank labels, bar code printers and Auto-ID equipment, and follows last month’s expansion announcement from the label store’s sister company, Mediamec who is also currently undertaking a period of significant growth.

The operation expansion begins with the acquisition of a new 1700 square meter facility, which will be used to increase capacity by over a third for label manufacturing, along with providing new conference facilities and a customer focus centre for label store customers and prospects.  Further projects are in the pipeline and this first phase is set to be fully complete by 2009.

In terms of personnel, two new business development and technical experts, Trevor Christie and Steve Parsons have been appointed, following the appointment of Sales and Marketing Director Andrew Mansfield in April. Andrew brings over 25 years of labelling and printing experience to the label store, enjoying successful previous Business Development roles at BT Labels, TPL Labels and McGavigans. He told us “I am incredibly excited at the new challenges ahead of me, the potential for growth was glaringly obvious for me, I am already enjoying expanding the team, and am looking forward to a lot more in the near future as we put this important plan in to place. “ Andrew manages the rapidly growing team of business development and marketing professionals, and was responsible for the appointment of Trevor & Steve.  He said “At the label store we believe strongly in personalisation – from a product and service point of view – face to face customer contact is important for our clients, as they all have different needs and requirements that need special care and attention.  It is this that makes our team special”.

Trevor Christie joins as the label store Business Manager, and has over ten years experience in the industry. Prior to that he enjoyed a successful career as a professional footballer, playing for Nottingham Forest and Manchester City. Andrew told us “I am delighted to welcome Trevor on board our expanding team!. My team is now a seven strong and my goal when I arrived was to expand and build the most effective department possible, in order to continue to fulfil and exceed our customers existing high expectations of the label store. Trevor’s role as Business Manager will entail maintaining and creating customer relationships under the label store brand, in addition to providing them with a high level of bar code and labelling consultancy.

Steve Parsons has also joined the label store, undertaking a senior technical role in the companies’ hardware, software and service department. Steve is the label store Technical Manager, and is responsible for managing and expanding the existing technical team including the in-house service and repair team, and hardware/software development. He has over 20 years experience in technical roles, working with Auto-ID equipment, printers, and weighing systems.  Andrew Mansfield said: “I am extremely pleased that Steve has decided to join the label store.  I have known him for over 10 years, and his philosophy for hardware is a ‘first time fix’ strategy, which fits perfectly with the label store’s existing policy of high quality and customer service. I look forward to seeing him expand our technical team, as we look to broaden our customer base and expand our product range further in the data capture software arena.“

Robin Stammers, Director of the label store and sister company Mediamec told us: “I am delighted at the recent additions to our team and welcome Steve and Trevor on board. Both the label store and Mediamec are currently experiencing a healthy growth period with significant expansion, and our team members old and new will help ensure that we continue to deliver our products to the high quality standards our customers expect”
